As asylum-seekers continue to enter New York City, Mayor Eric Adams and his administration scramble to respond. His proposal to overturn the city’s right to shelter has created ramifications across the city — inside public school gyms, within the MTA system, outside of Welcome centers and in neighborhoods where shelters have been set up without community input. THE CITY has been documenting how asylum-seekers have been received and where Adams has failed to meet their needs.
