Super Mario Bros. Wonder Gets Switch 2 Upgrade, Playable Rosalina, And Bellabel Park In March

Game Informer

Super Mario Bros. Wonder was one of Nintendo's flagship games on the original Nintendo Switch when it was released in 2023. While its Switch 2 upgrade was announced a while ago, today we got some more details about what to expect and when it's coming out. First things first: you can get the upgrade and content expansion in just over two months on March 26, and it'll cost $19.99.

Attraction Central is Bellabel Park's main sell, inviting players to a new area full of co-op and competitive minigames. The attractions are divided into two sections – local and wireless/online. The former can also be played with GameShare – meaning one Switch 2 owner can share it with nearby Switch or Switch 2 players that might not have the game – while the latter is built around players having individual screens and moving at their own paces.

Today's trailer also revealed Camp Central, a new area in the park where you can participate in the Toad Brigade Training Camp. These levels unlock as you complete stages in the main game, and give alternate challenge modes to levels you've already completed. Examples in the footage include defeating enemies, collecting coins in a time limit, and completing the level while maintaining invincibility.

Of course, Bellabel Park isn't all fun and games, and you can blame the Koopalings for that. They'll appear and scatter across the game's various worlds, and players will have to track them down, a task seemingly aided by an explorer Toad in each kingdom. We don't see much of these villainous turtles, however, because the trailer quickly pivots to the reveal that Rosalina will be playable with the update. She has no special abilities, and joins the main cast in all modes.

The update also adds some more accessibility options, specifically geared towards younger children. Co-Star Luma can join if there are at least two players, and can freely fly around a level. Luma can collect coins and spin to defeat enemies, but can't die, so it's ideal for someone who wants to participate but isn't coordinated enough to play. Since this is exclusive to the Switch 2 version, it also adds mouse controls for Luma, so it's even accessible to those who can't quite use a joystick. There's also a new Assist Mode which accomplishes a similar function, making players immune to damage and automatically surviving falls with a flying flower.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park (man, what a long title) is out March 26 exclusively on Switch 2. If you'd like to pre-order it, you can do so here. For more Mario and Rosalina, check out the Super Mario Galaxy Movie's reveal trailer.

Ubisoft Cancels Prince Of Persia Remake And 5 Other Games As Part Of Major Organizational Reset

Game Informer

Ubisoft is canceling six games in development, including its troubled remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The publisher is also delaying seven other games in its development pipeline.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Ubisoft held a call with select media to announce it is undergoing a “major organisational, operational and portfolio reset.” It plans to accomplish this via three pillars: new operating model, a “refocused portfolio with a meaningfully revised 3-year roadmap," and “the rightsizing of the organization.”

A press release states:

“Ubisoft's strategic decision to undertake this major reset is driven by the continued shift toward a persistently more selective AAA market and an increasingly competitive shooter landscape, combined with the growing challenge for publishers to create brands in a context of higher costs. Nevertheless, when successful, exceptional AAA content has more financial potential than ever. While last years’ progress with its production processes translated into improved levels of quality for Ubisoft games in 2025, today’s market environment requires that the Group step-changes how it is organized and operates with a view to delivering exceptional games quality at more competitive costs.”

This new operating model will center on five creative houses, each responsible for various Ubisoft IPs and possessing expertise in distinct genres (including its new subsidiary Vantage Studios). This simplified structure is designed to facilitate execution of the company’s strategy to focus more on “Open World Adventures and GaaS-native experiences, supported by targeted investments, deeper specialization, and cutting-edge technology, including accelerated investments behind player-facing Generative AI.” This new organizational structure will begin in early April.

After Ubisoft conducted a thorough portfolio review, it was decided that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be canceled. The game was first announced in September 2020 with a 2021 launch date and was originally helmed by Ubisoft's Indian studios in Mumbai and Pune. After suffering a pair of delays, development shifted to Ubisoft Montreal in 2022. During Ubisoft Forward in 2024, The Sands of Time remake resurfaced with a 2026 launch window. Its most recent update came in June 2025 with a social media post reconfirming the game's continued development.

The Prince of Persia X account addressed the cancellation to fans in a post:

Ubisoft has also ceased development of four unannounced games, which consisted of three new IPs and a mobile title, stating these titles, along with Prince of Persia, “do not meet the new enhanced quality as well as more selective portfolio prioritization criteria”.

Additionally, Ubisoft is delaying seven unannounced games “in order to ensure enhanced quality benchmarks are fully met and maximize long-term value creation.” One of the games was slated to launch in Fiscal Year (FY) 26 and will now arrive during FY 27. While we don’t know what these projects are yet, one of them is reportedly the heavily rumored (but not officially confirmed) remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which appeared on PEGI’s website in December as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Ubisoft also states it has four new IPs in development, including March of Giants, an upcoming MOBA it acquired from Amazon Games last month.

Ubisoft has been undergoing a restructuring over the past year following disappointing launch performances for some of its recent AAA titles, such as Star Wars Outlaws. It created its Vantage Studios subsidiary in 2025 to oversee the Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, and Far Cry franchises. Earlier this month, it shuttered Ubisoft Halifax and proposed layoffs to The Division developer Massive Entertainment after conducting similar restructurings at its RedLynx and Abu Dhabi studios.

Enshrouded Goes 1.0 This Fall As Keen Games Discusses 2026 Content Roadmap

Game Informer

We’re approaching the 2nd anniversary of Enshrouded’s early access launch on January 24, and developer Keen Games is marking the occasion by revealing the game’s 1.0 launch window. While we already knew the survival action RPG would exit early access this year, that timeframe has been narrowed to sometime this fall.

Until then, Keen Games has released a developer diary where it discusses plans for one last major content update for the early access build. While the details of this update are under wraps, Adventure Sharing, which lets players share creations with the community, will be one of the additions.

When Enshrouded hits 1.0, new areas of the map will be unlocked, as will a more advanced version of Adventure Sharing. Building systems will also receive new features and improvements. Keen Games also promises to improve combat by adding more technical depth, better enemy behavior and variety, and reworked balancing. Keen will continue optimizing the game post-launch, specifically calling out shader compilation as one key area of improvement. Lastly, Enshrouded is coming to consoles upon launching in 1.0, though it does not specify platforms.

The team has also touched on Enshrouded’s evolving content roadmap for the year. While we don't get a fleshed-out schedule of confirmed updates, Keen does state that post-launch updates will include paid expansions as well as free content drops.  Additionally, the game will receive a patch tomorrow that will add combat tweaks, such as modifying damage number visibility, adjusting blocking/parry animations and telegraphy, and improving projectile spells/attack accuracy. This patch will also introduce a new vanity armor set, make randomly exploding barrels do so less frequently, and include other bug fixes that players can read in the patch notes.

Enshrouded has been coming together for two years and has undergone significant changes since its Early Access release in 2024. Since then, it has garnered over five million players playing as Flameborn and fighting to uncover the remnants of the fallen and corrupted land of Embervale. It will be curious to see how big a splash Enshrouded makes once it launches in full, and players on PC and console can find out once autumn rolls around.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Update Adds Dixie Kong, Switch 2 Enhancements, And New Mode

Game Informer

Out of nowhere, Nintendo has released a significant free update to Donkey Kong Returns HD. Players can now enjoy a new playable character, an additional mode, and Switch 2 owners reap the benefits of graphical and technical boosts.

The update adds Dixie Kong as a new playable character. As in her previous appearances, she can use her ponytail like a helicopter rotor to boost Donkey Kong’s jump and glide over longer gaps. Although you can control Dixie, one player will still need to control DK, so it doesn't seem possible to do a Diddy/Dixie team-up à la Donkey Kong Country 2. Whatever your pairing, you can use them in the new Turbo Attack mode that challenges players to race through high-speed versions of stages within a time limit.

Lastly, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD receives Switch 2 enhancements, including improved visuals and faster load times. It also now supports Game Share, meaning owners can share the game locally with another player who does not own a copy.

You can download this free update now, and be sure to check out our review of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD here

Chloe Price Returns In Life Is Strange: Reunion This March

Game Informer

After teasing the next Life is Strange game last week, a special livestream that aired this afternoon revealed the next entry is called Life is Strange: Reunion. Max Caulfield returns yet again, alongside her original BFF and fan favorite character, Chloe Price.

Developed by Deck Nine, Reunion is a direct follow-up to 2024’s Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Set once again in Caledon University, the school has been mysteriously set ablaze. Although Max manages to escape the fire thanks to her time rewind power (which makes its full return), all of her friends, the students, and the faculty are killed.

Max avoids this fate by jumping back in time through a selfie and has three days to uncover how the fire started to prevent the school's destruction. However, due to Max’s reality-shifting actions during the events of Double Exposure (which we won’t spoil), Chloe appears at Caledon University. She’s understandably confused and haunted by memories of a past she never lived, and needs Max’s help.

Players switch between controlling Max and Chloe in Reunion, offering two perspectives on the story. Max can use her rewind power to redo decisions and manipulate the environment to solve four-dimensional puzzles. Chloe (voiced once again by Rhianna DeVries) has her Backtalk dialogue mechanic from Life is Strange: Before the Storm, channeling her quick wits and attitude to steer conversations in ways Max can’t, which will let Chloe access information and areas her bestie couldn’t. Regardless of how the story shakes out, Deck Nine bills Reunion as the big conclusion to Max and Chloe's story.

Life is Strange: Reunion is launching on March 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. In addition to a $39.99 Standard Edition, the game will be available in three special editions, one of which is a bundle that contains Double Exposure. We’ve detailed each one below:
